What to watch and review on Friday. Tonight's TV tips
What to watch and review on Friday, December 9.
Coronation Street (7.30 and 8.30pm) Formulaic storylines we’ve seen a million times before: 1) Former lovers drawn back towards each other sparking new partner jealousy (Peter, Leanne and Nick.) 2) Last minute calling off of the wedding which will soon not be called off (Roy and Cathy.) Move along… nothing new to see here.
EastEnders (BBC1, 8pm) The stupefying saga of teen twonks Shakil and Bex continues without pace as they nervously prepare to hit the sack for the first time. Just get on with it. Who cares?
Ball And Boe: One Night Only (ITV, 9pm) Michael Ball and Alfie Boe plug their new album Together by belting out a series of West End classics. The comedy banter isn’t a bad as you might expect and, with amusing guest slots by one hit wonder Rick Astley and super singer Marie Friedman, this is a perfectly pleasant Christmas musical special. You might not agree.
Walliams & Friend (BBC1, 9.30pm) Week three of droll Dave’s dreadful sketch show. After Jack Whitehall and Harry Enfield, tonight’s victim – sorry, special co-star – is actress Sheridan Smith. Little Britain it ain’t.
