What to watch tonight: Wednesday, June 8.
Versailles (BBC2, 9pm) Gratuitous sex, graphic violence, atrocious acting and an abysmal script. This dramatized story of how Sun King Louis XIV created France’s famous palace is very close to being so bad it’s hilarious. But mostly it’s so bad it’s painful to watch.
Power Monkeys (Channel 4, 10pm) Remember Ballot Monkeys, the caustic comedy about the crazy General Election spin doctors? Well, here’s the EU referendum version. Filmed on the day of broadcast, each topical episode will chart the antics of the fictional string pullers behind the In and Out campaigns. Stars Jack Dee and Claire Skinner.
