What to watch and review on Tuesday, July 19.
Child Genius (Channel 4, 8pm) Pushy parents, dauntingly clever kids and excellent quizmaster Richard Osman deliver the most compelling competition on TV. Don’t miss the weirdness as the 13 remaining contestants battle it out to be crowned Britain’s brightest youngster.
EastEnders (BBC1, 7.30pm) Ben’s not dead. Ha ha! Had you going. It’s only that Paul dweeb with the stupid hairband. When, like the audience, he thought his killer son was dead, Phil Mitchell sighed: “I wish it was me.” We all do, Phil. We all do.
Emmerdale (ITV, 7pm) Tracy didn’t really want to accept David’s marriage proposal. But she said yes out of pity because he’s got cancer. Now she’s regretting her sympathy vote. If you’ve been affected by this ludicrous storyline, get a life.
The Living And The Dead (BBC1, 9pm) Another chance to mark this underperforming Victorian rural ghost drama.
