Eden (Channel 4, 9pm) The start of a rugged reality TV series as 23 intrepid Brits are left to fend for themselves in a remote area of the Highlands. A weird cross between Castaway 2000 and those joke Bear Grylls Island shows as our heroes spend a year in the wilds of Scotland. Is it really real? Or just another tawdry telly format?

Swim The Channel (BBC4, 9pm) Follow the unusual lives of the volunteers who aid and assist the Channel crossers on their epic swims from England to France. Pensioners Freda, Irene and Barry are there to help in Dover every weekend. Not forgetting the expert pilots who navigate the swimmers across the busiest shipping lane in the world. Plus  an exclusive soundtrack by musical maestro Damon Albarn. What's not to like?
