Well there you have it. No sooner have you settled down and got reunited and cosy with old friends, it's time to say goodbye, again!

Thankfully; it's only until next year.

Yes; Monday night saw this new series of Cold Feet come to an end in what was a brilliantly funny, superbly written and heart warming finale.

To be honest; the whole series has been brilliant from start to finish, great acting, skillfull writing, just bloody brilliant. The only really annoying thing about this show is that I will have to wait a whole year before I get the chance to have another Cold Feet fix.

The finale was indeed as good as all the hype promised.

The final episode of Mike Bullen's ITV drama about a bunch of now late 40 somethings living in Manchester was set around a party to celebrate Adam's (James Nesbitt) 50th birthday.

Adam was actually 49, a point he made very clear upon when he saw the birthday banner displaying a big fat 50 on it. Hilarious.

Adam; after various moments of anxiety and a humorously botched armed robbery, finally gets his girl Tina (Leanne Best)

Karen (Hermione Norris) gets two marriage proposals on the same night within five minutes of each other, Pete (John Thomson) and Jenny (Fay Ripley) enjoy viagra fuelled sex and David (Robert Bathurst) having been cleared of all charges relating to that alleged fraud has a fight with Eddie (Art Malik) on the Twister cloth!

Just brilliant, superbly written and hilariously funny.

There were also some very touching moments too in particular, the coming out confession of Karen & David's Son Josh (played by Callum Woodhouse) which was beautifully acted, brilliantly written and wonderful to watch.

That scene alone sent Twitter into near meltdown. It even brought a tear to my middle aged eye. The arrival and welcome return of Ramona (Jacey Salles) was a pleasant surprise too.

The new younger characters, Adam's son Mathew; played by Cell Spellman, Daisy Edgar-Jones (Olivia Marsden) Ella Hunt (Ellie Marsden) Jack Harper (Adam Gifford) and Madeleine Edmondson (Chloe Gifford) bring a welcome added extra to what is already an excellent mix. Time for our heroes has moved on and these young additions reflect this extremely well.

All in all; Cold Feet Series 6 has been thoroughly enjoyable telly.

There were doubts this new series would not come even close to capturing the appeal, charm and magic of the previous ones, and to those who thought this would be the case . . .

You should have had more faith in Mike Bullen's writing.

Adam's love interest (Tina) nicely brings the famous five back to six and the final scenes on the roof terrace at least for me confirm that the stage is set for another superb series.

It's just a bloody shame that I will have to wait until next year to watch it. And watch it I indeed will.

So for those who have still to watch this new series . . .
Where the hell have you been?

Cold Feet is still available on the ITV Hub.
Watch it before it gets taken off!

You'll be very glad you did.

Roll on Season Seven!

Thanks for reading.
