What to watch and review on Monday, November 14.
Coronation Street (ITV, 7.30 and 8.30pm) As Weatherfield’s worst storyline of the year continues apace, airhead hairdresser Maria is arrested on suspicion of murder. Let’s hope she gets wrongly convicted.
EastEnders (BBC1, 8pm) All we’re waiting for is the magic moment when inanely credulous Whitney finally clocks that Lee’s City whiz-kid success is a sham. As usual the writers are stretching it out to the point where we’re all losing interest. Tonight dim Whit begs loser Lee to dip into his vast income to put down a deposit on their own flat. Hashtag awkward.
Children In Need Rocks For Terry (BBC1, 8.30pm) The dreaded Fearne Cotton and Greg James host a special concert at the Royal Albert Hall to honour the late, great Mr Wogan. With performances by Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs, Alexander Armstrong and so many more.
NW (BBC2, 9pm) One-off adaptation of Zadie Smith’s acclaimed novel about two friends growing up to forge very different lives in the same multi-cultural area of north west London. Great book… does this drama do it justice?
I’m A Celeb (ITV, 9pm) After last night’s lacklustre launch the first Bushtucker Trial. It’s early days but this year’s jungle heroes seem a little on the dull side. But this annual staple always starts slowly and you can never really tell until it gets going. But whatever happens, masterful hosts Ant & Dec can be relied upon to keep the nation entertained.
