Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1, 6.55pm) Tess Daly, Claudia Winkleman and the Strictly entourage head to Blackpool's world-famous Tower Ballroom, the spiritual home of dancing, for this week's edition. Now the B-word. Not Blackpool but Balls. Will Ed’s entertaining dad’s dancing fare him well in the seaside special?

The X Factor (ITV, 8pm) It’s movie week for the tedious talent show. Contestants will perform hit songs for some of the biggest blockbuster films. Honey G will attempt Getting Jiggy With It from  Last Days of Disco. Can’t wait.

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC1, 8.10pm) The comedian romps back for a second series of silliness, teasing members of the audience and embarrassing celebs. Olly Murs hands over his smartphone in the funny Celebrity Send To All and a man mimics his grandson’s social media with an Instagramp’s account. Ellie Goulding sings and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s West End production of School Of Rock perform.

Planet Earth II (BBC1, 8pm) Episode three is set in the jungle where extraordinary animals attempt to survive in the most competitive place on earth. Flooded forests are home to caiman-hunting jaguars and strange dolphins that swim amongst the tree tops, while in the dense underworld, ninja frogs fight off wasps and flying dragons soar. Sir David Attenborough hosts this heart-stopping series.

My Mother And Other Strangers (BBC1, 9pm) The peace of a small Irish parish is disturbed when an American airbase opens nearby. Rose falls in love with the American Captain Ronald Dreyfuss, played by Aaron Staton, best known for his role as Ken Cosgrove in Mad Men. Is the drama too slow, or is it perfect Sunday night viewing?
