The weekend's TV tips: Line Of Duty, An Evening With Take That and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway
What to watch and review this weekend: April 8 and 9.
SATURDAY
Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV, 7pm) Last of another hugely successful series as the Geordie duo host the finale from Disney World in Florida. In a fun-filled agenda, the identity of Maskface is at last revealed and local hero Mickey Mouse joins the cast of The End Of The Show Show.
An Evening With Take That (ITV, 8.30pm) Yet another rare chance to catch Gary Barlow on TV as the superannuated boy band trudge through their all too familiar pop songs and get the public to join in the performances. Not exactly must-see TV but definitely better than Gary’s grim talent search dirge Let It Shine.
SUNDAY
Line Of Duty (BBC1, 9pm) After the last surprisingly uneventful episode, the third instalment focusses on the plot thickening for DCI Roz Huntley (Thandie Newton) as the crack anti-corruption squad tire of her evasive excuses.
Vera (ITV, 9pm) Series end as DCI Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn) tackles the case of a missing 18 year-old whose body is found buried on the moors. As always, only Vera spots that there is more to the investigation than meets the eye.
