I've watched Sunday Brunch for ages and seen it grow in popularity and quite literally in length. The hosts Simon Rimmer  (chef) and  Tim Lovejoy, (presenter Soccer AM) are fantastically matched. They're not the greatest presenters or interviewers, but their awkwardness and comic banter make it compulsive viewing.

Sunday Brunch

I've watched Sunday Brunch for ages and seen it grow in popularity and quite literally in length. The hosts Simon Rimmer (chef) and Tim Lovejoy, (presenter Soccer AM) are fantastically matched. They're not the greatest presenters or interviewers, but their awkwardness and comic banter make it compulsive viewing.

The format each week is the same, Simon makes 3 dishes, usually starter, main course and dessert. The guests help make and prepare the food before they all tuck in. Often they have a guest chef, (this week it was Clodagh McKenna - so funny) to make specific foods, an expert in some field; barrel making; stone mason, rum connoisseur etc to show their skills, and guests are encouraged to join in throughout. There are sections where viewers send in pictures and videos from home, showing their attempts at recipes. Sometimes celebrities send clips in too!

This week, Matthew Wright was on (what was he wearing?!) Rizzle Kicks performed (sublime), Sam and Mark (children's TV) were hilarious, Dragons Den Touker Souleyman put us right about the economy and Brexit, and Louise Thompson (Made in Chelsea) proved 20 something reality stars can have some class. Everything was perfect; the guests were hilarious, talented, informative and tuned in. It's refreshing to see a show where everyone is so relaxed; no wonder they keep coming back. One regular, Johnny Vegas, even stepped in to present when Tim was on holiday.

The show is a winner and an absolute pleasure to watch.

Long may it continue.

I haven't seen this show as I am not currently residing in the UK, but my weekly live food fix was Saturday Kitchen which rapidly went down hill once my beloved James left the show. Shame.
