Play the funeral march… cue the tumbleweed. Welcome to ITV2’s disastrous dirge @elevenish where the laughter never starts.

It’s the late night slow-fire sketch show starring “amazing new comedians” who are about as funny as Ebola.

Tune in for torrents of turgid topical humour by a bunch of dweebs whose alleged cutting-edge wit is a tad on the dated side. For more up to date material try Terry and June.

Dominating 30 minutes of wall to wall tedium, some geek called Rhys took useless to a whole new low level. I felt sorry for him.

Lecturing his partners in crime on the need to keep their dreary drivel short, he droned on for so long that he was cut off in mid-stream. That was the joke. Be still my aching sides.

Talking of droning on, a couple of girls unleashed an endless diatribe about setting up a private members’ club in Calais’ refugee camp. It didn’t just lack a punchline… it lacked anything remotely amusing at all. Tragic.

Naturally, there were lots of right-on anti-Tory tirades by politically correct dullards on a roll. Not to mention awful American Bobby Mair and his snarling soliloquys that were so boring it hurt.

“You told me to write down a buzz word,” boomed bearded Bobby. “So I wrote down bumble bee.” Hilariously ironic? No, beyond pathetic.

If this clueless bunch of unsophisticated comedy illiterates are the next generation we’re in trouble. Come back Davro… all is forgiven.
